Robotic Controlled – Pneumatic Chess Game
Video Description
A senior design team creates a pneumatic chess game on a Stewart Platform to depict its capability as a precision pick-and-place mechatronic system. The system utilizes a sensor from Motion Controls LLC that provides position feedback to a Servo Pneumatic Proportional Control System (S2) from Enfield Technologies. A custom PCB design features a PIC micro controller to communicate between S2 valves and a Java-based software interface driven by advanced kinematic modeling done in Matlab. All system components are mounted upon a recently developed framing technology from Blanking Systems Inc; an unparalleled framing technology perfect for dynamic mechatronic applications and test fixtures. These platforms have found use in component placing, satellite positioning and driving simulators, among other applications.
