Rodless Slide Parts Nester

For transferring parts quickly over longer distances, rodless cylinders are a compact and efficient method. However, the speed and resultant energy built up over long movements can cause problems as the cylinder hits the end causing machine vibration, damaged parts, premature wear or broken cylinders.

In the following video, to keep the air cylinder from hitting the ends, an Enfield S2 positioning system, Numatics NR Series rodless cylinder and Balluff PF linear position transducer are used. The combination of these products creates a variable positioning system that can be adjusted through the PLC allowing parts to easily be nested together.
